    The Commercial Loan Documentation Manager supervises and directs the daily work flow of the Commercial Loan Documentation Specialists, as well as provides direct support to Bankers and Loan Assistants, regarding all aspects of the loan documentation process. Leads, develops and coaches team members.  Responsible for employee relation issues, performance management, staffing and development. 


    • Manage and provide leadership to the Commercial Loan Documentation department to ensure the smooth operation of the documentation preparation and review process.

    • Motivate and lead a high performing Commercial Loan Documentation team; attract, recruit and retain team members.
    • Mentor and lead a professional and high performing team utilizing Strength Based Leadership Objectives.
    • Create and nurture a solutions-based team to better support the needs of both our internal and external clients, while protecting the bank.
    • Train and develop Commercial Loan Documentation Specialists in all areas of job responsibilities, including laws, regulations, risk identification and management, software and related updates.
    • Manage the Commercial Loan Documentation team by working with Bankers, Lending Assistants and the Commercial Loan Documentation Supervisors to plan, organize and coordinate team workflow and activities.
    • Clearly communicate performance expectations to team members and address any deficiencies in a timely manner.
    • Analyze operational effectiveness of the Commercial Loan Documentation team; determine cause for any gaps in operational effectiveness, make recommendations to the Director, and implement process improvement plans as needed.
    • Direct the daily operations of the Commercial Loan Documentation team and proactively manage escalation for problem resolution.
    • Develop and maintain policies and procedures for all Commercial Loan Documentation functions.
    • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional organizations.
    • Maintain quality of service by enforcing quality and client service standards; analyze and resolve quality and client service problems; identify trends; recommend system and process improvements.
    • Serve as back up for the review of completed loan documentation, for new loans, modifications and renewals, prior to loan closing and prepare loan documents as needed to ensure the smooth operation of the documentation preparation process.
    • Quickly determine and communicate which terms of the documents can be modified and under what approval limits.
    • Act as a resource for team members, bankers and loan assistants by demonstrating extensive knowledge and enthusiasm about achieving banking solutions and management objectives.
    • Ensure loan documents comply with underwriting guidelines, Bank policy and procedures as well as applicable Federal and State banking laws and regulations.
    • Ensure the Bank is legally and financially protected at all times and complying with related laws and regulations; remain current and functional on any industry and regulatory developments.
    • Assist in the development of standard form loan documents and provisions to be used by the bank and ensure these are reviewed on a regular basis for changing laws, current events and servicing issues.
    • Build and maintain LaserPro Standard Products.
    • Uniformly enforce bank policies and procedures, while looking for a solution that would satisfy external clients, bankers, underwriting and the commercial documentation team.
    • Interact with internal and external clients while providing extraordinary service.
    • Develop and maintain trusted, positive relationships with employees, clients and vendors.
    • Represent the Bank and Loan Services team in a highly professional manner.
    • Complete job assignments in a professional, timely and efficient manner; organize and prioritize work.
    • Maintain confidentiality; adhere to CrossFirst Bank policies and procedures; comply with laws, regulations and industry best practices.


    • A minimum of five to ten years of similar or related commercial documentation experience is preferred.
    • Demonstrated success as a supervisor or manager within a commercial bank loan operations department; two years of supervisory experience strongly preferred.
    • Substantial working knowledge of consumer, commercial and residential real estate lending.
    • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced, high volume environment.
    • Proficient technical skills with the Internet and in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
    • Extensive knowledge of Laser Pro.
    • Working knowledge of our core processing system, FIS and other related bank systems such as nCino Salesforce is preferred.
    • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and/or work experience.
    • Law degree or paralegal certificate would be beneficial, but are not required.
