  • Overview

    The Business Loan Assistant provides administrative and project management support to the Commercial Real Estate department. Assists Bankers in performing their duties with loan and deposit clients.

    Responsibilities

    • Ensure that all administrative tasks and operations duties associated with the Commercial Real Estate department are executed in a professional, timely and efficient manner.
    • Consistently maintain a high level of communication with Commercial Real Estate Banking staff.
    • Support the Commercial Real Estate department with general client service activities by responding to requests, researching discrepancies and resolving issues.
    • Ensure all processes are documented and meet the needs of the Bank and those who rely upon such information for decision making and support.
    • Establish and ensure collaborative, supporting relationships throughout the organization.
    • Monitor loans, partnering with the Managing Director, Real Estate Banking to discuss past due ticklers and records documentation. 
    • Assist in obtaining updated financial statements, credit reports, rent rolls and other financial information required to service commercial real estate loans and coordinate information with Commercial Credit Underwriters.
    • Correspond with applicant(s), internal employees and outside vendors in obtaining all necessary documents to underwrite, process and close new loans as well as renewals or obtain expiring or lapsed documents, to include title policy, settlement statements, UCC searches, appraisal reports, environmental reports, etc. 
    • Assist in preparing loan closing documents for approved commercial real estate loans including promissory note, deed of trust, business loan agreements, guarantee and other required closing documents to prepare for loan funding.
    • Provide extraordinary service by responding timely to requests for information, researching discrepancies and resolving issues.
    • Escalate issues and problems and communicate with Bankers and Managing Director as appropriate.
    • Schedule and coordinate meetings, travel and manage supplies.
    • Prepare and complete legal file to loan file for storage and scanning.
    • Assist bankers in preparing and reviewing all documents necessary to onboard new client relationships and close new and renewed credit facilities.
    • Assist clients in making advances and pay downs on committed loan facilities and with completing routine treasury activity such as transfers and overdrafts.
    • As required, prepare managerial reports such as sales pipeline report, watch list and other reports as assigned.
    • Assist with draw processing and ongoing monitoring for real estate construction related loans.
    • Participate in updating or creating commercial real estate procedures.
    • Interact with internal and external clients while providing extraordinary service.
    • Develop and maintain trusted, positive relationships with employees, clients and vendors.
    • Represent the Bank and Real Estate Banking team in a highly professional manner.
    • Complete job assignments in a professional, timely and efficient manner; organize and prioritize work.
    • Maintain confidentiality; adhere to CrossFirst Bank policies and procedures; comply with laws, regulations and industry best practices.
    • Reliable and predictable attendance.

    Qualifications

    • Substantial knowledge of loan processing, procedures, processes and regulations.
    • Proven performer in a fast-paced service oriented role ideally from a commercial real estate banking environment with strong knowledge and understanding of bank products, services and operations.
    • Proven ability to review all the necessary documentation in order to perfect bank’s security interest in collateral and verify first lien position.
    • Proficient technical skills with the Internet and in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
    • Bachelor’s degree with exposure to Business Administration courses is preferred or equivalent work experience.
