  • Overview

    The BSA Specialist supports the Bank Security Act (BSA) Manager and the BSA Officer in complying with the regulations of the Bank Secrecy Act, Anti Money Laundering (AML) and Office Foreign Assets Control (OFAC). Monitors compliance with policies and procedures and related internal controls in the Bank.


    • Manage and address high volume alerts in AML system.
    • Identify, investigate, and report suspicious activity or incidents utilizing various automated or paper-based money laundering and suspicious activity detection systems.
    • Document all investigative efforts, regardless whether suspicious activity or fraud is determined.
    • Maintain electronic storage of supporting documentation of all investigative efforts.
    • File complete Currency Transaction Reports in compliance with regulatory timeframe as well as work with the Bankers on follow-up items required; provide spot training as needed.
    • Monitor Customer Identification Programs (CIP) and Customer Due Diligence (CDD).
    • Conduct other BSA/OFAC related monitoring or as needed.
    • Gather requested client data resulting from subpoenas or other client requests for information according to bank procedure.
    • Remain current on new developments, regulations, and policies affecting areas of responsibility.
    • Review monetary instrument logs and currency logs for proper completion and analyze logs for unusual activities.
    • Complete ongoing specific training in BSA/AML compliance requirements.
    • Interact with internal and external clients while providing extraordinary service.
    • Develop and maintain trusted, positive relationships with employees, clients and vendors. 
    • Represent the Bank and Compliance Services team in a highly professional manner.
    • Complete job assignments in a professional, timely and efficient manner; organize and prioritize work.
    • Maintain confidentiality; adhere to CrossFirst Bank policies and procedures; comply with laws, regulations and industry best practices.
    • Reliable and predictable attendance.


    • At least two (2) years of BSA/AML experience
    • Requires knowledge of regulatory obligations under the Bank Secrecy Act, FinCEN, OFAC and experience with SAR's, preferably in a commercial banking environment.
    • ACAMS or BSA related certification preferred, but not required.
    • Requires the discretion to handle confidential and sensitive material.
    • Proficient in PC experience in a Windows environment; including, but not limited to Word, Access and Excel is preferred.
    • High School diploma or equivalent work experience.
    • College degree preferred.
