  • Overview

    The Assistant Controller will successfully promote and support the mission of CrossFirst Bank by providing support for accounting, financial and regulatory reporting for both CrossFirst Bank and CrossFirst  Bankshares.

    Responsibilities

    • Assist with month end closing of records
    • Analytically review monthly results compared to plan on other periods and provide reasons for variances
    • Reconcile payroll and prepare journal entries
    • Assist with stock compensation plan accounting and administration
    • Provide support for all accounting software-specifically Workiva, Axiom and Certent.
    • Assist with preparation of other Bank and consolidated financial reporting as necessary.
    • Assist with preparation of Company budgets and forecasts
    • Research impact of new accounting pronouncements and model impacts to financial statements
    • Participate in accounting system/procedures implementation teams
    • Assist with calculation of income tax provisions and all other tax compliance requirements
    • Interact with internal and external clients while providing extraordinary service.
    • Develop and maintain trusted, positive relationships with employees, clients and vendors.
    • Represent the Bank and Accounting team in a highly professional manner.
    • Complete job assignments in a professional, timely and efficient manner; organize and prioritize work.
    • Maintain confidentiality; adhere to CrossFirst Bank policies and procedures; comply with laws, regulations, and industry best practices.
    • Reliable and predictable attendance.

     

    Qualifications

    • At least 3 years as a successful accountant with bank accounting/financial reporting experience being highly preferred.
    • A very strong knowledge of Excel and financial statements.
    • Public accounting background preferred.
    • Solid understanding of finance, accounting, information systems and related disciplines
    • Strong working knowledge of database reporting software/processes strongly preferred. 
    • SEC reporting experience preferred
    • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in accounting, or finance
